Rotozip bits for leather1/14/2024 ![]() And its the larger sets too! They also made smaller sets like this with double open end.Īs much as I love them, in their condition I'm reluctant to open or use them in any way. Pretty amazing to stumble across both an SAE and metric sets of these in unused condition with the wrenches still in the original plastic wraps. Thats probably the reason for the significant color difference in the 2 rolls as well. Had me fooled for a bit until I really looked close. Looking at this at home this morning I noticed the ties on the metric set had a couple of threads hanging off the edges and the patterning on the skin is just too uniform and consistent. The much lighter colored roll on the 15 piece SAE set I'm pretty certain is real leather. On closer inspection of the Proto sets I'm now thinking the 16 piece metric set in the darker roll is actually the synthetic leather and not real leather. Excellent.īetter closeup (all I have here at the shop) as well as a pic of the cheapo grinder and rotozip and larger shots of the Proto 500 sets. Its a smallish one so I'm guessing that its a 16oz one. I took that box home but cropped and more at full size you can clearly see PO-CAST on the head. Good eyes!! I had not even caught that in there. I have a sign business and some materials were on the tables in the way of my new tools. I think I dun did pretty good.Īlso - the green/yellow vinyl, etc showing in the one shot is unrelated. I ended up getting everything here at just under $350 (including the 10% buyers premium)…. 0001 outside micrometer (looks to be unused and brand new)Īnyways – I was pretty stoked with the haul. ![]() Mitutoyo 101 series (not sure of the exact model) 0-1”. Starrett #124 inside rod micrometer (used very good condition) Random other hammers, vice grips, bits, small odds and ends Odd wood swing out box thing with a bunch of top of the line drill bits and doodads Losta Bendix and Morse taps and dies as well as a cheapo tap and die kit Sandvik hole saws and quick change arborsĬlifton 550 spokeshave (as well as a Stanley one) Usually a standard set which even in well used condition sells for over $300.įew assorted Armstrong Armalloy and Williams SuperwrenchesĬR Danielson and Samson 10” pipe wrenches These limited edition sets rarely come up for sale as complete and when they do they sell quick and I've never seen a NOS set come up in my own memory, particularly both standard and metric. As gorgeous as these are I might be willing to sell them for the right price. Some of the plastic wrappers are disintegrating a little and one set even had a small paper inside from Proto congratulating the buyer on their purchase. The outside leather is a little discolored from age and storage but it is still buttery soft. Apparently these leather wrapped sets were only sold for a very short time for around $600 per set. ![]() 1 each of standard (16 pieces) and metric (15 pieces). A few pics of my haul are below.Ī few of the goodies in no particular order (some things were in lots)…īrand new Proto 500 Limited Edition wrench sets in their original leather rolls. Especially with the 2 brand new vintage Proto wrench sets. This is the first time I've ever really come across a load of tools like this so I wanted to share in my joy. I felt like I hit the jackpot to an extent. I don’t post much but went to a local auction this morning and even though it was well advertised (postcards, email, signs, etc) only about a dozen people showed up. Tools haul from local auction with lotsa pics (Proto porn)
